Seeking Charitable Orgs for Children

In General on November 29, 2008 at 5:32 pm

I am looking for a REPUTABLE children’s charity–one that has financial transparency and which feeds and clothes underpriveleged children in the United States. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

  1. Hi Jordan,
I volunteer at The Children’s Village of Sonoma County, a wonderful organization that houses neglected and abused children in a home (village) environment supervised by surrogate parents and grandparents. Unlike other foster care homes, these children can remain at the Village throughout their childhood with their siblings. Usually a foster care child lives in about nine homes while they are in foster care and are often divided from their brothers and sisters. Check out TCV at http://www.thechildrensvillage.com.
Currently the Village is looking for 3 additional surrogate grandparents to live on premise in a brand new triplex at reduced rates. If you know of anyone desiring such an arrangement, contact Lia Rowley, the founder of TCV at 707-566-7044. If you wish to make a contribution to this wonderful organization, the address is TCV, 1321 Lia Lane, Santa Rosa, CA 95404. Happy holidays to you, Erik and little Ben.
